As the epidemic gradually subsides, and with the bright spring light of May in Wuxi, International Museum Day (May 18th) is approaching. Travel through the tunnel of time and across the bridge of historical communication; those interested in cultural relics and museums will enjoy a unique historical and artistic cultural feast.
The theme of this year's International Museum Day (May 18th) is: "Museums for equality: Diversity and Inclusion". The International Council of Museums (ICOM) has provided a thematic interpretation, the translation of which is as follows:
The potential to create meaningful experiences for people of diverse backgrounds and origins is central to the social value of museums. As agents of change and trusted institutions, museums have never been as constructively involved in modern social, political, and cultural issues as they are today, demonstrating their close connection to society. In an increasingly polarized environment, the challenges to diversity and inclusion and the complexities of various social problems are not unique to museums and cultural institutions, but their importance is highlighted by society's high regard for museums.

Chinese civilization is vast and profound, with a long history. It is known as the only ancient civilization in the world that has never been interrupted. The Book of Rites states: "Heaven does not cherish its way, the earth does not cherish its treasure, and man does not cherish his sentiments." The earth does not cherish treasure, yet historical documents and artifacts see the light of day again, and besides their splendor and magnificence, the essence of thousands of years of culture is thus revealed." This reflects the true historical picture of Wu culture in the Spring and Autumn Period. This year's International Museum Day, the Helu City Ruins Museum will use "objects" as evidence to outline the development of Chinese civilization during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods.
In recent years, the Helu City Ruins Museum has combined its own historical and cultural resource advantages and utilized museum venues and promotional networks to actively guide the public to learn about humanistic history and perceive the changes and reflections of Wu culture in modern life. Guided by the Wu culture spirit of "respect for virtue, emphasis on culture, practicality, and innovation," the museum continuously enriches its learning content, optimizes its educational courses, expands the audience of social education, and promotes its Wu culture Brand. It provides a good place for citizens and tourists to learn about and experience traditional culture.
On May 18th, admission to the museum will be free, and there will be a half-price discount on the multimedia interactive show. In addition, the museum will hold a "Wu Culture Knowledge Quiz" event.
