Following the successful launch of the "Shark Story – Large-scale Marine Ecological Specimen Exhibition" on July 12th, our museum has adjusted the exhibition in the Helu Heroic Spirit Hall on the second floor.
The new exhibition features a collection of bronze artifacts on loan from the Suizhou Museum. Most of these artifacts were unearthed from the Zeng Hou Tomb and Wenfeng Cemetery dating back to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. Among them are 7 national first-class relics (including replicas), such as the Zeng Hou Lifting-Ring Wine Vessel and the Yu Bo Peng Zun; 5 national second-class relics, such as the wok-shaped tripod and the double-eared square-base vessel; and another 3 national third-class relics, totaling 15 exhibits. The exhibited wok-shaped tripod was unearthed from the tomb of Zeng Hou Yu in the late Spring and Autumn Period. The inscriptions on the set of bells unearthed from this tomb record the historical event of 506 BC, when King Helu of Wu led his troops in pursuit of King Zhao of Chu, arriving at Sui (Zeng) where Zeng Hou Yu negotiated with King Wu, allowing King Zhao to escape.
The exhibition adjustments were completed in late July. The Helu Heroic Spirit Hall will present a brand-new look, welcoming all bronze enthusiasts to come and appreciate it.
